An unique and fabulous new Bookshop by WH Smith opens within the arches at London Bridge Station

This new Bookshop by WH Smith store has taken a long time to get off the ground, not least because the site was consistently under water due to pre-historic plumbing, but also due to the complexities of working in a larger-scale regeneration project like London Bridge. However, its well worth the wait as what has been created is as interesting as it is beautiful.

Set within a railway arch, with an exposed brick ceiling, the bookshop is warm and inviting. The shelves are black and wooden and there are a range of bespoke items for midfloor display and the case desk area. Railston have designed, prototyped and created all the fixtures and fittings for the store as well as provided architectural design support. The signage was designed especially for the project and consists of individual lettering with theatre-mirror inspired light bulbs. There is a large, contemporary graphic which fills the rear wall and the lighting and services are exposed.

Definitely worth a pop in when passing...
